On October 10, the Water Tower in Lozenets will host a musical performance featuring artist Martian Tabakov and multi-instrumentalist Isabel Oxman.
The acoustic properties of the tower are exceptional, providing ideal conditions for various interventions in the world of sound.
This event will present an experimental performance featuring electric guitar, violin, gadulka, kaval, and other instruments.
The music will be entirely improvised, created spontaneously in response to the space and the moment.
🎻 Isabel Oxman is a multi-instrumentalist whose main instruments are the violin and the gadulka. Originally from Portland, Oregon, she came to Bulgaria in search of the traditional customs of the Balkan region. She participates in numerous musical projects both in Bulgaria and abroad, performing everything from folk-inspired melodies to experimental and atmospheric improvisations.
🎨 Martian Tabakov is best known as a visual artist, yet music has always been an integral part of his practice. One of his projects is the vocal-instrumental formation KAKЕ?, which moves within the realms of post-punk and art rock. In 2021, at the Water Tower itself, he presented his project “Architecture of Sound”, featuring musical sculptures, where Isabel Oxman also took part as a guest musician.
